Laser treatments such as GentleMax Pro, Laser Hair Removal, IPL, EndyMed, and Thermage are non-invasive procedures designed to improve skin tone, texture, or hair removal. These guidelines will help ensure optimal results and minimize potential side effects.

Post-Treatment Guidelines

Immediate Care

1. Redness and Swelling:

• Mild redness, swelling, or warmth in the treated area is normal and typically resolves within 24–48 hours.

• Apply a cool compress or cold gel pack to reduce discomfort, but avoid applying ice directly to the skin.

2. Skin Sensitivity:

• Treated areas may feel sensitive for a few days. Wear loose, soft clothing to minimize irritation if applicable.

Cleansing

1. Avoid Harsh Products:

• Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser on treated areas. Avoid exfoliants, scrubs, and active ingredients like retinoids, acids, or Vitamin C for at least 7 days.

2. Cool Water:

• Wash with cool or lukewarm water. Avoid hot showers or baths for 24–48 hours.

Moisturizing

1. Hydration:

• Apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer (e.g., Cetaphil or Aquaphor) to soothe the skin and prevent dryness.

Sun Protection

1. Strict Sun Avoidance:

• Avoid direct and indirect sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.

2. Sunscreen Use:

• Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+ with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) to treated areas once healing is complete.

• Reapply sunscreen every two hours during sun exposure to prevent pigmentation changes.

Activity Restrictions

1. Avoid Heat Exposure:

• Refrain from using saunas, steam rooms, or hot tubs for 48 hours post-treatment.

2. Exercise:

• Avoid strenuous exercise that may cause excessive sweating for 24–48 hours.

Hair Removal-Specific Instructions

1. Laser Hair Removal:

• Hair in the treated area may shed naturally over the next 1–2 weeks. This is normal and does not indicate regrowth.

• Do not tweeze, wax, or pluck treated hairs. You may shave if necessary.

Thermage/EndyMed-Specific Instructions

1. Tightening Effects:

• Skin tightening results are gradual and may take 2–6 months to fully develop as collagen production increases.

2. Hydration:

• Drink plenty of water to support collagen remodeling.

Valtrex Use for Cold Sore Prevention

• If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex), you may be placed on Valtrex (Valacyclovir) to prevent reactivation.

Signs to Watch For

• Contact us immediately if you experience:

• Persistent redness, swelling, or pain beyond 72 hours.

• Signs of infection, including pus, warmth, or fever.

• Unusual pigmentation changes, such as darkening or lightening of the treated area.
